between the Bay of Tokyo and the skyscrapers of Shiodome is the Hama-Rikyu garden.
It lies at the mouth of the Sumida River and is surrounded by a moat filled with seawater from the bay of Tokyo.
Inside is a pond with a tea house.

As I mentioned ( http://gattosandro-viaggiatore.blogspot.com/2010/09/viaggio-in-giappone-11-agosto-2010.html ) provide a guide at the entrance of the garden (free). Whenever you approach a place of interest (they are marked with a wooden sign that say a number and the name) the guide will beep and begins to explain facts and events related to the place where you are . It 's very interesting, plus it is also in English.
Each year the garden changes "face" and color, this is the timetable for the different flowers that can be seen depending on the time
Inside the garden there is a stop on the ferry that makes the tour on the River Sumida.

Along with the gardens of the Imperial Palace ( which I think are the most beautiful city) Hama-Rikyu is a green oasis not to be missed.
The time is from 9:00 to 17:00. Entrance costs 300 yen.

A curiosity: in the third edition of "American's Next Top Model" (you know Tyra Banks ?) The competitors are in Tokyo, and between the many photo shoots make one right in Teahouse of the Hama-Rikyu garden.
